"I'm pretty sure...

..that Damien thinks coming to my house is like a carnival." -- my mom

Wednesday morning I was surprised by Jj with a trip to my parents for my birthday! Thank goodness I had done 7 loads of laundry the Monday before and we all had clean clothes. Win.

I always love going back to my parents house and this time was especially fun as most of the family was there and it was a total surprise for me. Damien enjoyed himself more than ever as my parents have two horses, motorcycles, four wheelers, a trampoline, endless toys that are "new" to Damien, chickens, and live on a golf course that was putting on free activities (bounce house) and snacks.

My parents home is just big enough that each couple has their own room and no one is sleeping on the floor (yet) so we need to enjoy these get togethers before some of us are forced to stay at friends or a hotel.

Even though the visit seemed short we soaked in a lot of quality time. I love that we all live close enough right now that our kids can see their cousins frequently enough to not think they are total strangers. I took way too many pictures this weekend but here are a handful for your viewing pleasure.

Enjoy :)

P.s. And my birthday present from my husband was a shopping spree? Score.

photoblog

Oh ya, I blog.

Time has really gotten away from me the past two weeks. I guess now that spring is fully upon us I am busy chasing the boys around outside and too exhausted to try and recap what I have been up to lately.

The weather has been gorgeous and we had a beautiful Easter Sunday. Rain was in the forecast but somehow we just got a sprinkle and the rest of the day was glorious.

We have been doing lots of chalk and bubble activities outside and a picnic every now and then which has resulted in early bedtimes and sleeping through the night. Both good things. We took Damien to an OKC Thunder game (which he LOVED) and had an easter egg hunt at the grandparents neighborhood park. Damien was overjoyed to meet the Easter bunny and literally SPRINTED to his side and then pretended he was too cool for those childish things. He is really beyond his years as today he told me that the tiger at the park wasn't ACTUALLY the tiger from the movie Jungle Book because those are fake animations. Yaaaaa. Okay then.

It was a stunning 74 and sunny today so we went to the zoo with my SIL and goddaughter and before we knew it two hours had passed. I love getting out on these nice days especially before the horrid 100's grace us with suffocating heat this summer.

I'm guessing I have what is commonly know as 'writers block' as I cannot think of anything even remotely interesting to tell you right now. But it's 5pm and I feel like I have been awake for waaayyyyy longer then I can handle. Starting yesterday, my wonderful husband and I have been foolishly doing the workout, Insanity, and to be completely honest I rather enjoy the workout (when I'm doing it with someone) but I think the time I have to wake up in order to do it with him is much more insane than the workout itself. I cringe at hours earlier then 7am. Us dummies over here should have started this in lent-- that would have been  a great sacrifice for me-- SLEEP!

But alas, I am chugging along and feel much more accomplished when I start my day early. In fact yesterday I washed and folded 7 loads of laundry since my day started much earlier then my liking. I'm not exactly sure where all the laundry came from but JJ actually said to me, "I think this is the first time since we've been married that I have seen this much unwashed laundry." HA. I should have responded, "ya because the laundry doesn't wash itself.....!" But I didn't. My husband is awesome and I don't mind laundry.

Speaking of wifely duties, out dinner won't make itself either so I better get on that.

I apologize for my lack of updates. I know how eagerly you all wait to see a new one pop up...  :)

Enjoy!
